Vacaciones con sonido español

Miles de estudiantes extranjeros, procedentes de más de cuarenta países, eligen cada verano la capital para aprender o practicar el idioma mientras disfrutan de su tiempo libre

¿Quién dijo que aprender un idioma es difícil y aburrido? Estas dos ideas no pasan por la cabeza de los miles de alumnos extranjeros que cada año eligen la Costa del Sol para aprender español mientras disfrutan de una deseadas vacaciones. Compaginar los estudios y el ocio es posible. El turismo idiomático cada vez se hace un hueco mayor en la provincia. De hecho, la capital de la Costa del Sol lidera el ranking andaluz de destinos idiomáticos y se encuentra entre los tres primeros en el ámbito nacional.

Cada año llegan a Málaga estudiantes de unas cuarenta nacionalidades diferentes, principalmente alemanes, italianos, franceses, ingleses y suecos. Aunque, según la directora de Marketing del centro ¡Málaga Sí!, -perteneciente a la Asociación de Centros de Español de Málaga (ACEM)-, Joanna Kwiatkowska, en los últimos años “están irrumpiendo con fuerza” alumnos procedentes de países del Este, sobre todo de Turquía y Eslovaquia, además de los de países orientales como Japón y China. Precisamente, son los estudiantes orientales los que pasan temporadas más largas en Málaga -entre dos y tres meses, cuando la estancia media de los alumnos es de dos semanas-.

Este es el caso de Natsuho Okubo, una estudiante japonesa de 21 años que ya ha estado tres meses aprendiendo español en Madrid y ahora ha decidido pasar dos meses más en Málaga para continuar mejorando el idioma. Hasta el momento le ha gustado la experiencia, por lo que espera repetir en los próximos años. “Estas vacaciones me han permitido conocer a gente de otros países, además de practicar el español, una lengua que es poco difícil”, afirma Natsuho Okubo.

Agnés Magnin, estudiante francesa de 21 años, ha pasado ya más de mes y medio en la capital de la Costa del Sol. Eligió Málaga porque en su país es “una ciudad muy famosa” y quería conocerla. Además la playa se convirtió en un fuerte reclamo para ella. “Quería mejorar mi español y además disfrutar de la playa y conocer gente nueva. Quería conocer la famosa Costa del Sol. Por eso decidí venir dos meses a Málaga”, afirma la joven, que el próximo martes regresará a su país.

De lunes a viernes, todos los alumnos del centro reciben una hora y media de clase de gramática española y emplean otra hora y media en mantener conversaciones. “Las clases son divertidas”, reconoce Kara Beste, alumna procedente de Turquía. Para esta joven de 21 años es su segunda experiencia en el país, aunque la primera en Málaga. “El año pasado fui a Salamanca un mes. Este año quería conocer el sur y opté por Málaga. Me encanta la ciudad. La gente es muy simpática y el clima es muy bueno, por lo que todos los días podemos ir a la playa”, afirma Kara Beste, que reconoce que “la fiesta” en la capital “también está muy bien”.

El caso más curioso de este centro lo protagoniza Daniel Zmugg. Este joven de 31 años, natural de Viena, ha escogido Málaga para pasar un “año sabático” y aprender español. Llegó a la capital el pasado 1 de octubre y no se marchará a su país hasta el próximo 5 de septiembre. La idea de venir a Málaga surgió después de que la empresa en la que trabaja en Viena le concediera un año de “descanso”. “Málaga es perfecta para vivir. El clima, las costumbres y la mentalidad de la gente es lo que más me gusta de la ciudad. Dentro de poco regresaré a Viena, pero pienso regresar a Málaga de vacaciones más veces”, cuenta Daniel Zmugg.

Durante este tipo ha podido conocer muchos rincones de España. “He viajado a Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona, e Ibiza, entre muchas otras ciudad. Pero Málaga tiene algo especial, además he hecho grandes amigos, tanto españoles como americanos”, afirma el joven, quien señala que Málaga es “un pueblo internacional. “Su extensión comparada con Viena es muy pequeña, por eso la llamo pueblo, aunque para mí tiene la dimensión perfecta”.

Por raro que suene echa de menos la lluvia. “Me gusta el sol y el calor, pero añoro el olor de una tormenta de verano”, afirma el joven, cuyo dominio del castellano sorprende. La crisis también se nota. Kwiatkowska afirma que ha disminuido la demanda de estudiantes en una baja proporción. “Pese a que en verano, todas las semanas tenemos un centenar de alumnos en las clases, se ha notado la crisis”, afirma la directora de marketing de la escuela de Español Málaga ¡Sí!.

Desde ACEM, asociación a la que pertenece este centro, se gestiona la estancia de los estudiantes en la capital. Las opciones de alojamiento son variadas: familias de acogida, pisos compartidos, albergues juveniles, residencias e incluso hoteles.

En general, este programa significa para estos alumnos una vacaciones y una oportunidad de profundizar en la cultura andaluza. Por ello, uno de los grandes atractivos de este tipo de centros es que combinan el aprendizaje del idioma con atractivo programa cultural. Visitas al casco antiguo de la ciudad, excursiones a distintos pueblos de la provincia o a otras ciudades de Andalucía, son algunas de las actividades que se incluyen en el programa. La playa y salir por la noche, corre a cuenta de los propios jóvenes, quienes reconocen que “han mejorado mucho el idioma y han hecho muchos amigos”.
