Pensamos que esta es una magnífica noticia y un genial regalo de Navidad. Según leíamos hace unos días, Ryanair abrirá a partir del próximo mes de junio un centro de operaciones en Málaga.

El presidente de la aerolínea de bajo coste Ryanair, Michael O’Leary, adelantó el regalo de Navidad al sector turístico de la Costa del Sol. Ataviado con la ropa tradicional de Papa Noel anunció el gran desembarco de esta compañía en Málaga con la apertura, en junio del próximo año, en este aeropuerto de la que será su quinta base de operaciones en España y la que hace la número 38 de Europa.

El proyecto supondrá incrementar el actual tráfico de esta compañía en Málaga en más de dos millones de pasajeros y acometer una inversión de más de 170 millones de euros para crear una estructura de negocio que contempla contar con cuatro aviones en la capital de la Costa del Sol y crear 19 nuevas rutas. Será a partir del 22 de junio de 2010 cuando comenzará a funcionar esta base de operaciones, que generará 200 empleos directos y permitirá ofrecer 360 vuelos a la semana, algunos de ellos con la posibilidad de realizar el viaje en el mismo día.
